I am a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 20 years experience in the NHS. I have also worked for a number of years as a Chief Clinical Information Officer, leading digital transformation from a clinical perspective in provider organisations, as well as at a national level.

My interests include User-Centred Design, EPR usability, clinical and patient engagement in digital transformation, and inequalities in the digital health sphere. I am also a founding member of the Shuri Network.

An author, podcaster and public speaker, I specialise in people-centred design and change in complex systems. I help people and organisations with digital strategy and transformation for social impact.

I have 25+ year’s experience across charities, social work, NHS, local government and industry. My most recent book is: Towards a digital health ecology: NHS digital adoption through the COVID-19 looking glass (Routledge).

I hold an unusually broad portfolio in digital health and medtech. I advise innovators and Governments, support communities, and build partnerships around data and executive education.

I am a co-founder at Vita Healthcare; a consultancy that supports health systems to accelerate and adopt innovation. I’m a co-founder at Doftware - a boutique data-driven software development agency.
